WORLD GAMES 2005 - RUSSIA WIN 3 GOLD MEDALS
Russia’s Olga Kapranova performed superbly to win the Gold Medal in the Clubs and Finals with her new Clubs routine using terrific artistry. Aliya Yussupova from Kazhakstahn won Silver with a great routine and high difficulty, with Natalia Godunko in bronze position.
Olga also won Gold in the Ball Finals scoring an amazing 17.325 with Team mate Vera Sessina winning bronze. Inna Zhukova was unlucky after a music problem caused a false start to her routine.
In the Ribbon Finals, Vera Sessina turned bronze to Gold with a superb routine, and second placed Natalia Godunko had the knowledgeable audience roaring their approval to after a fantastic routine demonstrating her technical ability and artistry.
Anna Bessonova had a great performance throughout the finals winning Gold in the Rope Final, Silver in the Ball event and bronze in the Ribbon Finals. The European All Around Bronze medallist will hope to repeat this performance at the World Championships in Baku.
